Spam Poetry 2

Or…

Thanks. I’ll need this information …
…for my homework.

Blog spam poetryHave you ever noticed that spam is cyclical? Not just in terms of the topics covered (or should I say products promoted?), but also in terms of the quality.

During the holiday season, there is of course a huge influx of spam, as black-hat “marketers” try to profit from the giving season to sell their products. No surprise there. But along with the massive quantity of spam sent, I find that the quality goes down. “Quality” might seem a strange word to use with spam, but there’s more than one kind of spam. For me, one of the big distinctions is between spammers who really try their best and those who’ll just send out any old thing. During the holidays, most – actually, probably all – of what I get is of the any-old-thing variety.

I’m talking about spam comments that are nothing more than strings of product names and links. Comments that don’t masquerade as anything other than product spam. Comments that just don’t care. Thankfully, the holiday season is mostly over, and the quality of my spam has picked up again. So, time for another installation of Website Spam Poetry.

All of these “poems” are verbatim recitations of comments submitted to this blog. No kidding. (The subheads are mine, not the spammers’.)

Some need my advice

And boy, do I have some advice for this one:
website spam comment

Here’s my suggestion: Don’t spam my website! That won’t help you get on Yahoo News!

Others might just be confused

Somebody essentially lend a hand to make severely posts
I’d state.

Oh, about that homework assignment…

By the way, the subhead / alternate title at the top of the article? That, too, is a verbatim spam comment:
